Colorado Humanities is seeking proposals for small (up to $2,000) and large (up to $10,000)program grants and (up to $1,000) research grants.
The deadlines for programs and research projects that begin after May 1, 2010 is February 1, 2010.

Chautauqua Speakers Bureau
Libraries, schools, museums, conferences, churches, professional organizations and other local communities throughout Colorado are welcome to check our speakers list to see which scholar best fits your programming. Please submit applications for Chautauqua Speakers Bureau 8 weeks prior to your program.
When planning to host a Chautauqua speaker, here are some guidelines:Review the Speakers Bureau Application
Review the online list of possible speakers.
Call Betty Jo Brenner at 303.894 .951 x1t for the contact information of your selected Chautauqua speaker, and to ask any questions you might have about the Speakers Bureau Application.
Contact your selected Chautauqua speaker to discuss the details of your program as outlined on the last page of the Speakers Bureau Application entitled Contract Between Colorado Humanities and Presenter
Have the selected Chautauqua speaker agree to the details of your program by signing the Contract Between Colorado Humanities and Presenter
Mail the completed Speakers Bureau Application, including the original signed copy of the Contract Between Colorado Humanities and Presenter page, at least 8 weeks before the planned program to:

Colorado Book Awards
Entries must be postmarked or hand-delivered by January 15, 2010. Entries in the 19th annual Colorado Book Awards must have a 2009 publication date. Books published and available in late 2008 that have a delayed (2009) copyright may be submitted either in the 18th or the 19th annual Colorado Book Awards, but not both.
To be eligible for a Colorado Book Award, a primary contributor to the book must be a Colorado writer, editor, illustrator, orphotographer. Current Colorado residents are eligible, as are individuals engaged in ongoing literary work in the state and authors whose personal history, identity, or literary work reflect a strong Colorado influence. Authors not currently Colorado residents who feel their work is inspired by or connected to Colorado should submit a letter with his/her entry describing the connection.
Authors, Editors, Illustrators, Photographers, Publishers: To submit your book to the award program, review the Colorado Book Award Nomination Narrative and complete the Colorado Book Award Nomination Form.
Readers who would like to help choose the finalists and winners: To apply to be a selector or a judge, review and complete the Colorado Book Award Selection and Judging Application Form.
Letters about Literature
Entry deadline was December 12, 2009 (entries from outside the U.S. deadline is February 1, 2010). The Student Literary Awards celebrating the Colorado winners of Letters About Literature and River of Words will be held in May 2010.
River of Words
Entry deadline was December 1, 2009. The Student Literary Awards celebrating the Colorado winners of River of Words will be held in May of 2010.
