Colorado Center for the Book

Founded in 1989, the Colorado Center for the Book (CCftB) was originally part of the Colorado Department of Education. It became an independent nonprofit organization in 1995 and in 2004 merged with Colorado Humanities. It is currently a program arm of Colorado Humanities.

The Colorado Center for the Book is an affiliate of the Library of Congress Center for the Book. Its mission is to encourage a love of reading and books among people of all ages through diverse cultural activities. CCftB programs include Motheread/Fatheread Colorado, Colorado Book Awards, River of Words, Letters About Literature, Writers in the Schools, and Colorado's Poet Laureate.
